Public research preview · October 17, 2026
This public research preview includes an optional future-newsletter signup. It does not include advertising scripts or payment forms. Optional Google Analytics stays off unless you accept it; the separate first-party aggregate counter is described below.
The calculator and state filter run in your browser. This site’s application code does not send those inputs to a server or save them in browser storage.
The hosting platform may process request, security, authentication, and usage information under its own terms. This notice does not describe every hosting-platform practice.
Comparison links
Your selected comparison states appear in the page URL and may be recorded in your browser history. Opening or sharing that URL includes those selections in the request to the hosting platform. The application does not add a separate analytics event or store the selections in browser storage.
Planner context
Following a state guide’s planner link puts that state in the calculator URL. That context may appear in browser history and hosting request logs. Vehicle descriptions, glass and film percentages, and your chosen target are used locally by the application; the planner does not add them to the URL or save them in browser storage.
Factory glass lookup
Year, make and model entries stay in your browser. The site searches a local reference catalogue; it does not send your vehicle query to NHTSA or an automaker. No VIN, registration number or photograph is requested. The catalog lookup does not change calculator inputs or save your entries.
Newsletter signups
You can choose to join the future Window Tint Laws newsletter. Email delivery and confirmation emails have not started. Joining does not create an account, verify ownership of an email address, or promise real-time law alerts.
When you submit the form, the application sends your email address and your explicit consent to the site’s private database on its hosting platform. The record includes the signup time, consent wording version, site identifier, unconfirmed status, and a protected digest of a private removal token. There is no public subscriber list. The application does not save your email in browser storage. This signup flow does not send the list to an email-marketing provider or activate advertising or third-party analytics.
We retain the signup record, including after withdrawal, to preserve your choice and prevent an ordinary repeated signup from adding you back. There is currently no automatic deletion schedule. Save that link and keep it private: anyone with it can remove the associated signup. Using a matching link marks the record withdrawn and records the withdrawal time; it does not erase the retained email and consent record. Repeated signups do not change an existing record or issue a replacement removal link. You can send a private question through Contact us. An alternative way to recover a lost removal link is not available yet.
For abuse prevention, the application stores request counters and a salted hash derived from the request’s network address and site identifier; it does not store the raw network address in the signup database. Source-specific counters expire after at most two hours, site-wide counters after at most 25 hours, and daily salts after at most 48 hours. Cleanup happens in bounded batches during later requests, so expired records may remain longer when the site has little traffic. The hosting platform may separately process request and security information under its own terms.
Newsletter delivery has not started. The current signup stores your request as described above. Information about email delivery, confirmation, unsubscribing and any added providers or retention practices is not yet available; this notice must explain those details before delivery begins.
Information still missing from this notice
This is an interim notice for the public research preview. The site operator’s full identification, hosting-provider details and applicable privacy-rights procedures are not yet set out in this interim notice. You can send a private website question through our contact form. Additional provider or data-use information, and any required consent, must be in place before advertising or additional analytics is activated.
General contact messages
Your name, email and message are saved privately for the site owner to read and reply if needed. Your email is used only to respond to your message; this does not sign you up for marketing. Do not send passwords, payment details, medical information, financial documents or other sensitive information. No attachments are accepted. Messages remain in private storage until the owner deletes them; there is no automatic deletion schedule. Sending a message does not guarantee a reply. No automatic email is sent.
To limit abuse, the hosting service processes your network address. This form stores a daily salted hash for rate limiting, not your raw IP address. Expired abuse-control records are removed in small batches during later valid submissions; they may remain longer if the form receives no traffic. The hosting provider may separately retain operational logs.
Retry protection stays in the same open form. If saving cannot be confirmed, keep the page open and retry without changing your message. A reload starts a new attempt.

Basic page counts
We use a small built-in counter to understand which public pages are read. It keeps only the UTC calendar day, the public page path and a total view count in this site's private database. The counter does not store IP addresses, browser details, referral pages, full URLs, search or filter values, form entries, visitor identifiers or individual viewing histories.
The counter uses no cookies or browser storage and sends no analytics to a separate analytics provider. Preview pages and marked testing visits are excluded. It respects supported Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. The totals are approximate pageviews, not a count of unique people. Aggregate counts remain available to the site owner until removed; no automatic deletion schedule is configured.
Our hosting service still processes the network requests needed to deliver and protect the site. Its technical request records are separate from these aggregate page counts.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics loads only after you choose Accept analytics. Google receives analytics identifiers, device and network information to help us understand visits to selected public pages. This is not anonymous analytics. This integration does not use advertising, Google signals, user-provided data, form contents, search terms or full URLs containing query strings or fragments.
Your choice is stored on this site address for 180 days without a visitor identifier. Use Privacy & analytics on any page to accept or reject; rejecting does not affect site features or existing first-party aggregate page counters. After permission, Google may use host-only analytics cookies for up to 180 days. Reject analytics stops new collection and removes these cookies. Data already sent is not erased. If the page asks you to reload, save any unfinished work first and reload when you are ready. Preview visits and visits marked as tests are excluded, as are unrecognized page addresses and addresses with extra details after a ? or #. Optional analytics also stays off if the browser cannot enforce these restrictions as you move between pages.
See Google’s privacy policy. The first-party aggregate counter, where present, remains separate and is not forwarded to Google.
