Arkansas uses net light transmission and separates ordinary passenger vehicles from certain larger vehicles and licensed chauffeur-driven sedans. The state-authorized 2025 motor-vehicle-law compilation supports this summary, but the current live consolidated-code publisher page remains unavailable.

| Window | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Windshield | Ordinary eyebrow strip: no more than five inches down from the windshield’s top center. |
| Front side | At least 25% net light transmission under the ordinary rule. |
| Rear side | Side windows immediately behind the driver: at least 25% net transmission ordinarily, or 10% on a truck, bus, trailer, motor home or qualifying multipurpose passenger vehicle. Other rear-side pane positions need a separate check. |
| Rear window | At least 10% net light transmission under the ordinary rule. |
Glass, labels and older vehicles
Net transmission concerns the completed glass-and-film assembly. A label on the front glass immediately left of the driver must identify the installer, give its telephone number and affirm compliance. The ordinary percentages apply to model year 1994 onward and to older vehicles under the transitional provisions, including transfer of ownership.
Medical certification
For medical tint installed under the post-2013 provisions, a physician’s certification supports floors of 20% on the specified side windows, 10% on the rearmost window and 50% on the windshield. Carry the certification, which is valid for three years, and retain the installer’s compliance label. Earlier medical installations require separate date and installer documentation. On transfer, disclose medical-only tint or remove it.
Special-use vehicles
Section 27-37-307 applies to qualifying chauffeur-driven sedans licensed as automobiles for hire that accommodate at least three passengers in the rear, excluding taxicabs and vans. It permits 15% net transmission on rear passenger-door windows and 10% on the rear windshield; do not apply this category merely because a private car is a sedan. Section 27-37-306 also contains funeral-transport and law-enforcement windshield provisions.
Mirrors and other restrictions
Section 27-37-305 requires a rearview mirror. When the vehicle is constructed or loaded to obstruct the driver’s rearward view, a mirror must provide a view at least 200 feet behind. This is a general equipment rule, not a verified special two-mirror tint rule.

- The state-authorized 2025 compilation was reviewed. A separate search of enacted acts through the listed 2026 sessions found no newer §27-37-306 enactment; current live consolidated-code access remains unverified.
- No current official numerical reflectance limit, prohibited-color list or tint-specific two-mirror requirement was established. The general mirror rule is stated separately.
