Wyoming’s ordinary aftermarket standard is 28% transmission through film and glass together. Its rear-glass vehicle exceptions and medical certificate rules need to be checked separately.

| Window | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Windshield | Nonreflective top strip only, no lower than the AS-1 line or 5 inches from the top, whichever is nearer the top. Red, yellow, and amber are prohibited for this strip. |
| Front side | At least 28% combined transmission with nonreflective material; ordinary applied film cannot exceed 20% luminous reflectance. |
| Rear side | Ordinarily at least 28% combined transmission. Windows behind the driver of the listed truck, bus, motor-home, ambulance, limousine, and qualifying multipurpose-passenger classes are excepted. |
| Rear window | Ordinarily at least 28% combined transmission, with the same listed rear-glass class exception. |
Mirrors and vehicle class
Under the ordinary rule, adding tint behind the operator requires left and right outside mirrors. A multipurpose passenger vehicle is defined as carrying 10 or fewer persons and built on a truck chassis or with occasional off-road features. Do not assign the exception solely from an SUV marketing label.
Medical certificate limits
The medical provision allows qualifying vehicles used by or regularly transporting an affected person to use at least 25% transmission, while the windshield must retain at least 70% except its permitted upper band. A driver or occupant must possess a director-issued certificate, supported by a licensed physician or optometrist. It lasts while the condition persists or until the vehicle is sold, whichever comes first.
Older installations
The statute has a narrow 13% nonreflective side/rear allowance for sunscreening installed before July 1, 1996. That historical provision does not authorize a new 13% installation.

- The rear-glass class exception is broader than a simple VLT exception. Confirm the actual statutory vehicle category and any other applicable safety requirements.
